What happens after the challan

Eight convictions against twenty-five acquittals is not a statistic to hide in an annex. Each acquittal has a cause, and every cause is something the platform is built to prevent.

Acquittal root cause

why cases fail at trial
Extraction tool validation record missing2
Witness not produced or resiled2
Chain-of-custody gap in digital exhibits2
Statutory procedure not followed2
Territorial jurisdiction contested2
Attribution to natural person not proven2

The taxonomy is local, not a national standard — adopting one is gap G25. Even so, the pattern holds: the failures are evidential discipline, not investigative reach.

The loop back into the platform

an acquittal is a requirement
Custody gap → ECS weight. The heaviest acquittal cause becomes the heaviest checklist weight. A case cannot reach the challan gate with a broken chain of custody.
Validation gap → lab gate. An exhibit carried by a tool with no validation record is flagged at the exhibit level, before the package is built.
Attribution gap → human only. Where attribution stopped at a device, the platform does not extend it to a person. That decision stays with an investigator and a court.
